Aerification

We are well under way on completing aerification of the fairways. 10 holes are completed. We should be done by thanksgiving. Greens are to be aerified November 5&6 depending on weather. We have had 95" of rain year to date.

Rainfall

We have had 9" of rain in the last 2 days, 17" for the month of May and 53" for the year. It will be cart path only for the remainder of the week.

Hazard stakes

I got this tip from another turfnet member. We bought a hand held planer and refurbished all of our out of bound and hazard stakes. They look brand new.

croquet update

This week, laser turf  out of Athens, Georgia was on site to float the court and install 15,000' of A-1 bent grass sod. Irrigation was installed last week by our staff and the rough grading was also completed for the fescue sod that will be installed on Friday. In the coming weeks, we will roll, topdress, fertilize and aerify the court to be ready for a june opening. Here are a few pics from the last few days.

Weather

I can't remember the last time we had a stretch of cold weather that has lasted this long. Yesterday it was -4* when I got to the shop with a high of 28*. Tomorrow is a high of 20* with windchills near zero. All the lakes are frozen over and the ground is hard as a rock.  Next week looks to bring some more snow on Monday. We finished out 2017 with 80" of rain. 2018 is starting out frigid, but the weather has not stopped us from completing many projects on the golf course.
