I'm a little late posting this, but the greens received a heavy verticut with a sand injection in march. It was decided not to aerate but to verticut instead. We removed a ton of organic material from this process. The greens will receive a light dusting of sand every 2 weeks during the growing season. Sometime in June we will follow up with a 1/4" tine to the greens to help them along the hotter months of July and August. The months of May , June, September and October will be a solid tine venting process. Next week we will be lowing the height of cut to the greens mowers which will be at .120. Greens should start to pick up speed in the next few weeks due to increased mowing/rolling and plant growth regulators being applied.

7 ladies tee

This pine was taken down last week due to some shade issues with the trial zoysia tee we installed last fall.

Bathroom renovation

Over the winter, we had the bathrooms at 9 tee completely redone. Everything was taken down to the studs. The bathrooms now are ada compliant, with all new fixtures and led lighting.

Spring pre-emerge

Today we put out our spring pre-emerge to the course. The analysis was 11-0-17 giving us 1/2 lb nitrogen. The truck from Howard's fertilizer can spread the entire course in 3 hours. We are getting some much needed rain tonight to help water in the fertilizer.

Stump grinding

We have rented a grinder this week to remove stumps from the trees that were cut down over the winter.

Winter has returned

Today was blustery with flurries and very cold temps. Tonight's low is 9* and tomorrow's high is 26*. Lots going on the next few weeks. Stay tuned.

Fairway aerification is now finished

We have had awesome fall weather which has allowed us to complete aerification to the fairways. We will begin to aerate the roughs next week and that should be done sometime in December. We have also started taking down the pines along the cart path of hole 12. We will add some maples back to give it some color in the fall. We really need rain. To date only 41" has fallen since January . Last year we had 100", and we average 80" a year. Lots of wildfires in the area.
