Equipment cleaning

Every Friday we try to pressure wash all of our turf equipment. We use a hot water pressure washer, which helps get all of the grime off of the mowers. Every other month we will put a coat of wax on. We take pride in the equipment that we use , and our staff enjoys a clean mower also.

Club house

We have finished the sod and pine straw around the club house this week. We should be installing plant material soon.

Clubhouse update

Today we installed 7000' of fescue sod around the club house. The irrigation is installed as is all the drainage. Next we will begin to work on the landscaping beds. The anticipated opening date is slated for June 1.

Frost

Yesterday we had a morning temp of 33 and a really good frost. By the afternoon , temps were near the upper 70's, windy, and we were out chasing wilt. Crazy weather that's for sure.

Spraying fairways

Today we started our second application of primo on the fairways. We spray primo every 3 weeks during the growing season. With all the rain that we are having this is a great tool that benefits us if we can not get out to mow. The white spots are foam, this is a spray indicator that allows us not to overlap.

May weather

A chilly start to the day at 37*. We have recorded 43" of rain since January 1st. I believe this will be the first dry week since January.

Topdressing sand

We took delivery of our dry sand last week. We go through 50 tons of sand per growing season. Since the birth of the greens, I have stayed on a very aggressive topdressing program. Topdressing dilutes thatch, firms the greens and smoothes out the putting surface.
