Tractor repairs

This old massy ferguson has been around since the mid 70's. Every couple of years we give her a new coat of paint. We will also repair the front steering cylinders and send the fuel pump of to be rebuilt. These aren't the best pictures but a before and after pic show how bad the tractor was in need of a paint job.

Monday

With the warmer weather the last couple of days, we decided to mow fairways and greens today.  The fairways have not been mowed since early December, and there was lots of clipping yield. Also this week, we are still repairing the roof to the shop, picking up limbs from the recent snow storm and finishing up the painting of our tee markers.

Roof repairs

Well, all of the snow has melted around the course and we are back outside working. Today we mowed tees, aprons and borders. We are making repairs to our shop roof. Over the years we have had many leaks. We are replacing the plywood that is rotten. Tomorrow we should be putting shingles on the roof.

Snowfall

The recent storm left us with at least 10" of very heavy wet snow. I have spent the last 4 days plowing out driveways around sky valley and scaly. This week looks to be much warmer.

Snow and more to come

Looks like we will be in for a real winter treat. Forecast is calling for up to 9" of snow thru Thursday. Took these pics before the cart paths got covered.

Willow trimming

With a dusting of snow on the ground, we trimmed all the willows on #9. Also, we mowed tees today. If we can catch a dry week, we will mow fairways and approaches. The bent grass has really turned off color due to all the cold weather.

A dusting

Woke up to a dusting of snow on the course today. Next week looks like we have some more wintery weather coming in.

First mowing of the year

The temperature today reached the lower 50's. We were able to change the pins and mow greens. This has been one cold winter. The entire golf course looks very dormant, kinda like Bermuda does this time of year. Hopefully with some warmer weather the grass will start to turn green soon. Around the course this week we will finish painting our tee markers, 150 yard poles, mowing tees, landscaping around the club house and doing some roof repairs to the maintenance barn.
